The manufacture Loetz ranges among the most important glassworks in the time around 1900. Due to their love of creative decorations and high-quality works, this enterprise produced some of the most wanted glass objects in the art market. Their designs were leading in creating the European art nouveau glass genre. The Rusticana decor is one of the earliest decors with a Silberiris finish and resembles a tree bark-like surface. Through special techniques like pulling out parts of the hot glass surface and repolishing the glass mass, structures like knot-holes are achieved. The vase is restored, it had a crack at the stem which was professionally restored.
