Vase Decoration Ausfuehrung 146 Mouthblown glass, iridescent and covered with glass Height 23 cm Diameter 27 cm The cooperation of Leopold Bauer with the glass manufacturer Johann Loetz-Witwe Klostermuhle began shortly before the year 1902 and turned out to be a great success for both in the year 1906. Johann Loetz-Witwe Klostermuhle exhibited glasses designed by Leopold Bauer at the Mailand World Exhibition and was bestowed the Grand Prix, the most important award for Arts and Crafts worldwide at that time. The Ausfuehrung 146 was produced in several variants, among others in blue, green, Markart (red), black and purple. The appearance of this decoration variant may have appealed to the taste of Leopold Bauer because several of his designs were executed bearing the Ausfuehrung 146. Also, the similarities to other decoration variants that Bauer used for his shapes are quite obvious.
