Beautiful Chinese porcelain vase; its elongated and proportioned shape makes it particularly elegant; the knob of the lid is painted in pure gold; on the back we find some ancient Chinese writing, very complicated and difficult to interpret; after the fall of the Qing Dynasty (1911) the Republic of China was born and the Chinese Communist Party promoted the abolition of old characters and started the Romanization of Chinese writing very simplified and essential to promote cultural exchanges with the West and combat illiteracy; usually on ancient vases the writing described the vase or the goddess of the artist, on our vase we were able to know that the artist was called Jiang Yongtai; on the front are painted with rare skill peony flowers, leaves, peach branches, and a beautiful phoenix; the drawing, made completely by hand, is very detailed and the hemispherical shape of the vase helps to give it a soft and pleasant movement; the vase is placed on support in ebonized wood and carved by hand, typical of Chinese craftsmanship; this type of painting and the coordinated combination of colors is typical of the late 1800. On the body of the vase there are small black spots and slight imperfections on the porcelain, on the edge of the bottom there is a strong formation of rust (see photo) due to the iron present in the clay (for this it takes years for it to occur), all this, in addition to the typicality of the shape and design, allows us to confirm that the vase was produced in China between 1870 and 1880 during the Qing dynasty. The message that the craftsman wanted to communicate with this painting is really fascinating and intense, in fact, the symbolism of the various parts of the drawing is very strong and interesting; the Phoenix: emblem of the Empress and beauty, also associated with the concepts of peace and order, in fact, it appears only if there are peace and stability; the Peony: is the king of flowers, represents a wish for good luck and is a symbol of love and affection, feminine beauty and spring; the Peachtree: royal tree, as its fruits were believed to give immortality and were the elixir of life of the Taoists, also the peach tree is the symbol of marriage and spring, it was believed that the peach tree of the Gods blossomed once every 3000 years and that the fruits of eternal life took another 3000 years to ripen.
