Three exceptional frames with beautiful and perfect English floral prints in chromolithography; are from "The Garden" by William Robinson and represent some types of flowers whose name and date of execution are visible on each frame (in photographic order: Xerophillum Asphodeiloides June 6, 1891, Sufted Pansy Violet December 19, 1894, and Anemone Apennina July 18, 1894); were printed with the technique of "chromolithography" from the Greek crhomo (color), lithos (stone) and graphia (drawing), a technique of 1837 obtained by superimposing images of different colors engraved on different stones, one for each color; with this process it was possible to imitate the colors of tempera paintings, obtaining very bright shades and tones. William Robinson was a gardener who in 1871 began to publish "The Garden", including all the notes of his work and related illustrations, a document which still today remains fundamental and revolutionary. Robinson dedicated his whole life to gardening, to research and experimentation, subverting the custom of the English garden based on roses and inspired by the forms of the Italian garden. With Robinson begins a completely New Era on the concept of the natural garden with the combination of native plants and exotic plants. To him, we owe the introduction of the mix borders and the popularity of the Cottage Garden, an informal style where shrubs and herbaceous plants live together in dense beds with a spontaneous and casual look. The frames of our prints are made of wood with shiny mirror edges and pure gold finishing, artistic works of art made completely by hand in recent times by an old master craftsman who has his workshop (old too!) in the coolest district of Florence: San Frediano, known for the fascinating and unique "stores"(botteghe) of artisans who produce (really!) with their own hands. Our prints lend themselves to easily decorate every room in the house, for the symbolism that contains and the spot of color that can form. Measures: Width cm 50, height cm 42, depth cm 3.
