1940s Set of Two Easy Chairs by Bas Van Pelt for My Home, Netherlands produced in The Netherlands

Beautiful set of two easy chairs designed by Bas van Pelt, manufactured by My Home in The Netherlands, circa 1940. The chairs are made of beautiful quality beechwood with recently restored rattan backrests and fabric upholstered seats. They would make an eye-catching addition to any modern interior. In good condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. Bas van Pelt was a Dutch furniture and interior designer, born in 1900 in Dordrecht, Netherlands. In his days he designed a lot of very special pieces, a lot of original pieces now taken in the collection of several museums. In 1931 he took over furniture shop “My Home Woninginrichting” in The Hague, Netherlands and turned it into a good running business in modern furniture and interior design. What seperated him from others was that he was not only a designer, but also an interior architect.
