Fantastic easy chair by Yngve Ekström, model “Arka”, manufactured by Stolab in Sweden around 1950. The whole chair is made of beautiful high quality oak. It has four legs and a wide seat and backrest, making it beautiful and comfortable at the same time. It is an iconic piece of Scandinavian design that would make a great addition to any modern interior. In good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. Yngve Ekström, (1913-1988) was a Swedish furniture designer, wood carver, sculptor and architect. Yngve Ekström is often associated with the “Lamino” chair which in 1999 was named by the influential Swedish magazine “Sköna Hems” as the Swedish furniture design of the century.
