We kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Pair of original and unique Art Deco bedside tables; the entire frame of each nightstand is made of walnut burl, only the side panels are made of European walnut; under the top shelf we find a functional and spacious space closed by a wraparound door with rounded edges and a convenient drawer equipped with an elegant golden aluminum handle; the interior space, is made of polished light birch wood that creates a pleasing and bright contrast with the rest of the furniture; the door handles have a beautiful Art Deco design and are made of brass and reddish bakelite, the latter material used extensively in Deco and Art Noveau furniture; the nightstands have four solid rounded and shaped black lacquered wood feet; nightstands were produced in the Art Deco style between 1930 and 1935 by an artisan company in Val Badia in Trentino Alto Adige on the border with Austria; Val Badia, Val Gardena and Val di Fassa have been active centers of woodworking since the Renaissance, the skilled and astute artisans of those areas, carping from the artistic heritage of neighboring European countries inspirations and decorative techniques for their original creations and with clever planning created unique pieces of furniture full of personality. The artisans were inspired by the desire to devise two small-sized objects with strong, simple lines and gave the bedside tables a timeless elegance; their design plays between austerity and strictness, and their exaggerated linearity gives the objects a dynamic and stately character. Artisans have treated walnut burl with ancient techniques of sanding, varnishing, and polishing, thus enhancing the colors, flaming, and grain of this beautiful wood. Walnut burl is obtained from the very root of the tree and is a collection of twisted and twisted wood fibers that give the wood its characteristic hardness and firmness. Briar also has aesthetic value, as it is very elegant and refined due to its many ever-changing natural grain patterns. Each briarwood object is a totally unique product. The most common burl is Walnut, characteristic of luxury furniture. Art Deco refers to a style and pattern of aesthetic taste that spread throughout Europe and the United States between the 1920s and 1930s. The name Deco comes from the words "Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes" held in Paris in 1925, which initiated this new phenomenon involving decorative arts, visual arts, architecture, and fashion. Art Deco is characterized by classical, essential, symmetrical, and elegant forms, sharp geometries, and plasticity in the figures. The nightstands have been carefully restored by hand by a skilled furniture maker in Florence, Italy, using the ancient techniques of workmanship that are the heritage of these ingenious and, unfortunately, last craftsmen. Measures width cm.51, depth cm.35, height cm.55. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
