Daum Nancy Daum Frères Bellied Vase / tapering form type MANUFACTORY: DAUM FRÈRES / made in France / Nancy, Lorraine, circa 1900 - 1905. DESIGNER: DAUM FRÈRES (Auguste and Antonin Daum) TECHNIQUE OF MANUFACTURE: CAMEO GLASS & ETCHED (built up with different layers and cut back with acid to reveal beautiful designs) SPECIFICATIONS: DAUM NANCY VASE ( = QUITE RARE !) Stunningly manufactured cameo (casing) glass: Colourless glass of multi-layered type, further powder meltings existing (= bright rose red as well as orange shaded). The vase's four-sided surface having some artistical dents is made in shagged technique / additionally, it is decorated with stunningly cut floral ornaments covering large parts of vase's surface: These consist of bright rose-red flowers depicting vetches attached to thin stems, with large leaves growing out of them. Finally, the vase of bellied and tapering form type has round foot at area below as well as edged round mouth. HALLMARKED: Cut Daum Nancy Signature of circa 1900 - 05 with Cross of Lorraine as well as with painter's sign 'AR' visible at middle area (signature of cameo type). Very similar signatures are published by Carolus Hartmann, Glasmarken-Lexikon 1600-1945, Stuttgart/Germany 1997, page 147, signature numbers 2953 & 2954.
