A beautiful pair of “Swan” chairs designed by Arne Jacobsen, manufactured by Fritz Hansen in Denmark around 1960. These outstanding pieces have chrome plated metal crossbases. The round design of the seat gives it a very nice appeal as well as seating comfort. It has the original, blue skai (faux leather) upholstery. The colour of this material works really well with the bright silver coloured chrome of the base and adds a sense of luxury to the set. This combination of elegance with modern design, is what makes this chair a highly recognizable Jacobsen design. The seats are adjustable in height, making the chairs versatile in use for different preferences. It would be a truly valuable addition to the decor! Labeled Fritz Hansen as well as the Danish Control mark, as shown in the photos. The set remains in very good, original(!) condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) was one of Denmark’s most influential 20th century architects and designers. Both his buildings and products, like his swan and egg chairs, combine modernist ideals with a Nordic love of naturalism.
