Viennese Sofa set by Marcel Kammerer for Thonet 1908
Marcel Kammer is among the most important designers to work for the enterprise Thonet ca. 1900. Being a pupil of Otto Wagner he was well experienced with the matter and created several genius and timeless designs for the famous Viennese bentwood manufacturer. This suite was first used for the Hotel Wiesler 1908 in Graz. Due to the huge success of the model the Gebrüder Thonet printed it in their “Thonet Zentral Anzeiger” their official catalogue for customers all over the world. The “Model 414” and “413” were even featured in “Das Interieur” one of the most important Newspapers about paintings and Arts & Crafts. The suite was also used for cafes in Vienna and Prague.
