18th Century Portuguese Azulejos Mural
€32.000,00
The tile mural painted in cobalt blue over white represents a young nobleman and his mother in typical 18th century garments and a fisherman. These characters are set in an outdoor scene with mountains and lakes. The frieze is composed by atlantes, birds and churips playing trompets. By stylistic comparison, in the painting and the face features, and also the specific frieze, the mural is attributed to the enigmatic monogramist PMP, active from 1700 to 1730.
Provenance - Private collection decorating the walls of a living room together with others of the same collection and author.
