An elegant Mid-Century Modern red goatskin and wood jewelry box in excellent condition, it has been designed in Italy in the Sixties by Aldo Tura and manufactured by Atelier Tura in Milano. Having established his furniture company in 1939 just outside Milan, Aldo Tura (1909 -1963) met his greatest success during the 1950s, keeping artisanal manufacturing alive in his production and concentrating on furnishings and objects characterized by richness and l exotic materials, such as rosewood, leather or parchment, usually combined with sculptural forms. Inspired by Art Deco and modernism, Tura's objects are always the result of a meticulous process, which at the time could not be replicated in an industrial way, which is why the number of the designer's pieces remains limited and highly sought after on the market, even for typical chromatic combinations between materials and finishes that characterize them, often articulated on red, brass, amber shades and glossy finishes. A part of Tura's furniture is exhibited in the permanent collection of the Brooklyn Museum in New York, after being exhibited in the great exhibition that took place in the museum in 1950, "Italy at work: Her Renaissance in Design Today".
