We kindly suggest that you read the whole description, as with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Peculiar and eye-catching green ceramic centerpiece with original white decorations on the edge; the shape, fascinates us with its unparalleled originality, elegant plasticity, and dynamism; the green color similar to the green bronze color of ancient statues, makes it very striking and unusual; the white base was made hollow internally so as not to weigh down the object and high enough to raise it aesthetically from the supporting surface. The centerpiece was made by hand lathe then the decorations on the edge were applied with taste and skill, then it was fired a first time; when it cooled, the Master craftsman carefully painted it with a special green paint while the decorations with a white color, at which point the whole thing was annealed at 1000° to fix the entire glaze; the green paint in the heat of the kiln took on a beautiful green bronze color of ancient statues. The table centerpiece was designed and executed in Art Deco style between 1962 and 1965 in France in the Lunèvillois region by Master Craftsmen with extraordinary care and intelligence following the method of the Saint-Clement Company's workmanship; in fact, the area is home to the famous Saint-Clement pottery factory, which has been working terracotta since 1758 producing magnificent colored ceramic objects; there is skilled labor within the company, but the Firm also makes use of numerous small artisanal workshops located in the vicinity of Lunévillois; our centerpiece was created and marketed (as was often the case) by one of those, and it is for this reason that it does not bear the official mark of the company; however, the refined and particular traditional Saint-Clement technique was used. Saint-Clement was founded in 1758 by Jacques Chambrette of Luneville; the history of earthenware in the Lunévillois region thus dates back to the 18th century, and the objects that are still produced in and around Saint-Clément are the fruit of this long tradition. In 1892, the factories of Lunéville and Saint-Clément joined forces and dominated the French pottery market. The centerpiece is in good condition. Measures diameter cm.29, height cm.9. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (custom-made wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
