We kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Iconic and beautiful pair of French vases made of opaque green blew glass; they are decorated with pure gold hot enamels and have small stylized flowers cabochons in ruby red glass in the center; they are characterized by an accentuated decorative elegance and by sweet and sinuous lines that meet and intertwine harmoniously. The vases were produced in Art Noveau style between 1910 and 1915 in Saint-Denis near Paris by the Legra's Company. The company Legras & Cie was founded by Auguste Jean-Francois Legras around 1864; Jean-Francois, an excellent technician, deposited a large number of patents of manufacture and decoration; among these was a specialty of the house the glass "Green Nile" colored in the mass and then decorated in gold and enamels, our vases are a magnificent example. The process of hot enameling with floral motifs treated in relief is still the most practiced by Legras, who gradually associates it with the acid engraving of the background in imitation of the products of Emile Gallè. During the first decade of the 1900s, Legras & Cie became one of the major exponents of the École de Nancy (School of Nancy) led by Gallé, producing exceptional Art Nouveau products that he embellished with a personal touch making them unique. Legras' creations of the period 1910-1920 in blown glass are not always signed, in fact, even our vases show on the bottom only two numbers handwritten in pure gold, however, the beautiful workmanship of the pieces makes them recognizable and perfectly identifiable. Only on acid-etched products did Jean-Francois place the signature "Legras" on the body of the object, just as Gallè did. In 1916, after Jean-Francois' death, Legras & Cie created the Atelier Montjoye ("Montjoie! Saint-Denis!" war cry of the French in the Middle Ages and for the armies of the kings of France until the end of the 16th century, named after the French patron saint) which branded its products under the base with a shield inside which was the effigy of St.Denis, protector of France, and the signature MontJoye LC (Legras and Cie). The rare color "Verde Nilo" and the high quality of the manufacture make our vases unique and incomparable, elegant and refined, able to embellish and value every kind of environment. Measures diameter cm.12, height cm.34.For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
