We kindly suggest that you read the whole description, as with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Peculiar and original German orange and black colored ceramic pitcher; it has an innovative and modernist shape; the beautiful and vibrant colors are balanced and proportioned respecting a minimalist design; the glazing of the pitcher was achieved by first laying down one color, proceeding to fix it by firing it in a kiln, then the same process was performed for the other color. The mark on the bottom tells us that the object was created in a limited series, the jug is number 484, and 21 is the model number; it was produced between 1968 and 1971 in a craft workshop in the city of Dresden, (then in West Germany), an important center of porcelain and ceramic production. "Fat lava" is the name given to a certain style of West German art pottery that spread in the post-war period characterized by an extravagant amount of typical shapes, glazes, textures, and colors ranging from dark brown to orange, forest green to cobalt blue, ruby red to canary yellow; the production strategy of the artisans of this style involved rather simple and strict shapes that in combination of all the different decorations and colored glazes resulted in a very wide range of pieces. Our jug is presented with beautiful and harmonious proportions, and because of this strong personality, it can be placed in any style of decor. The pitcher is in excellent condition.
