French 19th Century Louis XV Rococo Style Gilt Bronze Decorative Fireplace Andirons Modeled as Lions Head with Rocaille Patterns
€3.200,00
Impressive pair of French Louis XV style finely chiseled gilt bronze andirons. These Rocaille ormolu chenets are extremely decorative each depicting a lion’s head crafted in relief surrounded by rich Rococo decorations such as acanthus leaves, rosettes, pierced oval and exuberant scrollwork. The base intricately detailed sculpted with gadrooned foliage and scroll design. Original curled black wrought iron log holders behind.
High end artworks with both practical and decorative function to protect priceless rugs and flooring from rolling logs but with plenty of style.
