This wall mirror frame is an artisanal artwork that shows high quality of craftmanship, something that is unlikely to ever return. In this frame the evenly spread, deeply carved and striking details in the neo Renaissance style are breathtaking, carving the wood - especially a very hard wood such as walnut - away to leave these marvelous decorations in high relief is almost like wizardry. The frame faithfully reproduces the carvings of the Florentine Renaissance period with typical inlay called “Sansovina”. The frame’s stunning patterns consists of carved egg and dart motifs, floral patterns, rosettes the whole with deep relief carved foliate designs with lacquered profiles and details in a stunning and stylish blue petrol color, all covered with a very attractive original prima patina. The wood color grain and color are absolutely gorgeous. The mirror plate is vintage and has been replaced at some point, perhaps the frame originally housed a painting and it can still be used for this purpose or remain a mirror to display in any room of the house. The perfectly symmetrical decorations allow you to hang it on the wall either horizontally or vertically.
