We kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. At the same time as these items, we published a pair of curtain hooks from the same period, provenance, and workmanship. We can suggest you the cumulative purchase. Eleven particular and sturdy antique curtain rings; they were made in two pieces, a perfect and elaborate bronze casting with rocailles patterns and leaves, to which a solid bronze ring was welded with skill and symmetry; the operation following the fusion was to intervene skilled artisans to chisel them by hand one by one in an accurate and meticulous so as to bring out even the smallest details, the rings were then gilded with the ancient method of "gilding mercury vapor" (a very dangerous process for those who made it but of the highest quality), which made the bronze take on the warm color of gold, over time has formed an original patina making these objects even more precious and aesthetically engaging. The creation of these rare and exceptional little works of art has fully justified this long and laborious craftsmanship. Being quite strong, they can also support heavy and important curtains. They were created in Louis XVI style in France between 1860 and 1865 in an artisan workshop in the town of Osne-Le-Val (Haute Marne), an area famous for its art foundries. Measures diameter cm.7, height cm.12. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
