Original and unique Murano vase made of violet-colored blown glass with transparent glass threads applied all over the surface. The process by which the Murano Master Glassmaker created this particular vase involves a combination of traditional glassblowing techniques and the creative expression of the craftsman. Purple glass obtained by adding a mix of cobalt and manganese metal salts to the transparent molten glass is blown and shaped by the glassmaker into the desired shape as soon as it leaves the furnace; the Master then heats the strands of transparent glass until they are malleable but not completely molten. With intuition and artistry, the glassmaker applies the clear glass strands to the surface of the purple vase in bulk but with great imagination. This involves twisting, coiling, or irregularly winding the wire around the vase, creating a unique and artistic pattern. During the process, the glassmaker uses tools such as tweezers and paddles to manipulate and shape both the purple glass of the vase and the clear glass wire. This resulted in a dynamic and visually appealing design. The glazier continued to shape and refine the overall shape of the vase, ensuring that the clear glass wire was seamlessly integrated into the design.
