We kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Lovely and romantic French wedding vases in white porcelain; the upper part, painted with a soft blue shaded color, is finished on the edge in pure gold; it has the stylized shape of the scalloped angiosperm flower, while in the lower part are distributed buds and leaves of the same flower, decorated in pure gold. They were called nuptial vases (vase d'Eglise marièe) because they were donated by the bride and groom to the church where the wedding took place in order to embellish the altar during the ceremony; the bride and groom in order to save costs, since the vases had to be given to the church, commissioned the craftsman only to decorate the front part, the one facing the faithful, leaving the rear part incomplete, which would have remained hidden from the crowd! The pieces were made between 1870 and 1880 in the respect of ancient traditions and the raw material ( kaolin) by the master craftsmen. Porcelain de Paris” is a term that refers collectively to the various porcelain decorating workshops and studios within and around Paris, France. It is not the name of any single company or producer and is usually applied to craft objects of excellent workmanship produced between the mid and late nineteenth centuries. The makers are in some cases obscure and generally unknown or have created only a few rare pieces. Antique porcelain objects from Paris are the most desired by collectors and are present in many museums around the world. The vases are in good condition and on the back, you can see perfect and interesting period repairs (see photo), in some parts the pure gold appears consumed, but this makes the two objects much more fascinating and historically interesting. Measures width cm.15, depth cm.6, height cm.24.For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
