'Sea Anemone' Mirror (Medium) by Pia Maria Raeder
€18.333,00
From thousands of simple beech rods patiently cut, sanded and arranged one by one, and then lacquered, Pia Maria Raeder creates refined functional sculptures that evoke biomorphic forms. More than 11,000 beech rods are necessary to the artist to handcraft this magical piece of collectible design. According to Pia Maria’s own words: “With my work, I try to create pieces as vibrant, unique and surprising as nature". Emancipated from its limits, the wood is offered a newfound freedom. The breath of nature seems to animate these intriguing sculptures in which function and poetry fuse. Their magic presence is like the echo of nature’s murmur while their organic waves sketch the movement of life.
The ‘Sea Anemone’ collection includes side and coffee tables, wall mirrors, a freestanding mirror, an enveloping armchair and two floor lamps. It is exclusively produced and sold by Galerie BSL. Each piece can be customized in terms of size and color. It can also be created to go outdoors using fiberglass rods that, thanks to the artist’s talent, substitute the original wood rods while preserving the same biomorphic waves.
