The Sacred Clothesline, 2021

$12,000.00

The Sacred Clothesline This piece was inspired by Victor’s few pieces of clothing hanging on the cloth lines waiting to dry after hand-washing them at the end of each day during his journey on the Camino. These Holy Cards were collected from top antique and book dealers in different Cities on and around the Camino. At first, he was only trying to collect art pieces that he could carry. The leather cord wrapping around the Skein represents the never-ending Camino of life. The different colors are a representation of the different paths of any Camino. The Holy Cards represent all the everyday Saints who come into our journey to teach life learning lessons. The piece comprised of: Early 19th Century extremely fine walnut, rosewood and satinwood Expandable Spinning Skein with ivory finial. A very fine and well-preserved collection of 17th and 18th Century European Holy Cards. Mid-century (1960s) solid walnut wood and black laminate pedestal.
