We kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Exceptional French crystal vase; the lenticular shape makes it unique and special; on one side, engraved over a delicate amber color, we can admire a tranquil lake landscape with an elegant swan in the foreground, while on the opposite side, we can appreciate a beautiful ensemble of graceful plants with leaves; on the upper part of the vase, the color is absent to give space to a wonderful and strong grinding of the crystal with stars and stripes. The vase was masterfully executed between 1948 and 1951 in a craft workshop in the district of Nancy (France), famous for its high concentration of factories and artisans specializing in crystal work (Daum, Baccarat, Saint Louis, etc. ); the vase is made of crystal with a percentage of more than 30 percent lead oxide ( a material, developed in England by George Ravenscroft in the second half of the 17th century), which is very shiny and transparent; to obtain the delicate amber coloring, iron oxide and sulfur were added to the crystal during casting. The master glassmakers then fashioned the final shape, once cooled, cut, and scrupulously polished in a decorative manner the rim, while the body was embellished with graceful grinding done by hand and with meticulous care using small circular stone wheels; by doing so, a fascinating and pleasing contrast was created between the ground parts and the rest of the colored vase; finally, the vase was polished with a cork bark wheel wet with a mush of water and pumice, and lastly, the polishing stage, which was achieved with a felt wheel wet with a mush of water, iron oxide and cerium oxide. Our vase with its delightful and graceful shape tells us these wonderful stories, it is an object with a unique identity full of elegance and refinement, in addition, the excellent quality of crystal gives the object a high refractive index and creates extraordinary light games and reflections. Measures width cm.23, depth cm.11, and height cm.29. The vase is in excellent condition. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
