An outstanding rug designed by Nanna & Jorgen Ditzel, manufactured by Unikaeteppe in Denmark, circa 1960. This eye-catching piece has a very playful design with many different shades of blue squares that together create a beautiful effect that can truly add some personality to the interior. It is made of kvadrat fabric, which is known and loved for it’s amazing quality. For anyone looking for a unique piece of vintage design to compliment the decor, this is a great and unique find of vintage design! It has the original manufacturer’s label. It remains in good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful vintage patina. The husband and wife team of Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel studied furniture design together at the Kunsthandvaerkskolen in Copenhagen and collaborated on furniture designs as well as textiles. Nanna Ditzel extended herself far beyond furniture, designing silver jewelry for Georg Jensen, kitchen units and even playgrounds. Ditzel never held herself to overly strict design principles, saying “When I start designing an object, anything is possible and permitted.”
