We kindly suggest that you read the entire description, as with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to ensure the authenticity of our items. Refined and elegant French Art Deco rectangular coffee table made of walnut burl; the entire structure is made of walnut with a beautiful and decorative veneer of precious walnut burl; the upper top is supported by two massive elements positioned asymmetrically; the lower top fits between these two elements and two more pieces of wood are placed at opposite corners under the top itself to complete the stability of the entire structure, which thus takes on a very original and practical appearance. The craftsmen were inspired by the desire to devise a small-sized object with strong and simple lines and gave the coffee table a timeless elegance; its design plays between austerity and rigorousness, and its exaggerated linearity gives the object a dynamic and stately character. The coffee table was created by a Master Craftsman between 1930 and 1935 in a qualified and professional carpentry workshop in the town of Pont-de-Beauvoisin, a French commune in the Isère department, nicknamed the city of furniture for its ancient tradition of woodworking. The artisans treated the walnut burl with ancient techniques of sanding, varnishing, and polishing, thus enhancing the colors, flaming, and grain of this beautiful wood. The upper floor, with these techniques, has taken on a fantastic and fascinating appearance. Walnut burl is obtained from the very root of the tree and is a collection of twisted and twisted wood fibers that give the wood its characteristic hardness and firmness. Briar also has aesthetic value, as it is very elegant and refined due to its many ever-changing natural grain patterns. Each burl item is a totally unique product. The most common burl is walnut, which is characteristic of luxury furniture. Art Deco refers to a style and pattern of aesthetic taste that spread in Europe and the United States between the 1920s and 1930s. The name Deco comes from the words "Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes" held in Paris in 1925, which initiated this new phenomenon involving decorative arts, visual arts, architecture, and fashion. Art Deco is characterized by classical, essential, symmetrical, and elegant forms, sharp geometries, and plasticity in figures. The coffee table was carefully restored by hand by a skilled furniture maker in Florence, Italy, using the ancient techniques that are the heritage of these ingenious and, sadly, last craftsmen. The coffee table, thus restored, is in excellent condition. Measures width cm.67, depth cm.51, height cm.63. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
