We kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Valuable and refined French coffee table; the upper top, made of blond walnut wood, has a soft, sinuous shape with the entire edge shaped to scale and beveled; exceptional is the graceful and harmonious design of the legs that connect with each other to support the additional top below, both the legs and the top are made of European walnut; a slender, pleasing and sophisticated whole in which a soft symmetry and aesthetic balance of great impact prevail. This small work of art was created by a true master cabinetmaker in an excellent and meticulous manner between 1920 and 1925 in an artisan workshop in the town of Pont-de-Beauvoisin, a French commune in the department of Isère, nicknamed the furniture town for its ancient tradition of woodworking. The master achieved an object of amazing fineness, the rigor of design, sharpness, and regularity. Walnut (Juglans regia) is a valuable and expensive wood, and the "blond walnut" variety is much more so; it is characterized by a light color with shades tending toward yellow, warm tones, and much more pronounced grain, qualities highly valued in the luxury furniture industry. Blond walnut is a hardwood, its chromatics have been appreciated for centuries, and it is a wood that is unparalleled in its aesthetic appearance; blond walnut furniture is highly sought after but also very expensive because the usable wood part in each plant is very scarce. Art Nouveau ("New Art") is an artistic-philosophical movement that originated in France in the late nineteenth century and the first decades of the twentieth century and spread throughout Europe under different names in different nations: in Spain modernism, Italy Art Nouveau, Austria Sezessionstil, and in Germany Jugendstil. From a visual point of view, Art Nouveau works (paintings, furniture, statues, architecture) are characterized by a pronounced decorative elegance and gentle, sinuous lines that meet and intertwine harmoniously. The coffee table has been treated with ancient manual restoration techniques by our team of craftsmen and is in excellent condition. Measures width cm.70, depth cm.47, height cm.74. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
