'Botanicus' Screen by Taher Chemirik, 2018

€98.000,00

Handcrafted in Taher Chemirik’s workshop in Paris, ‘Botanicus’ is a spectacular evocation of the beauties of Nature. This refined and sensual screen is made of three panels and features an organic vegetation of sculpted brass leaves and ebony leaves. Some brass leaves have a a polished, mirror effect, others have patinated over one year time, some were distressed with a hammer. Each ebony leaf is adorned with a brass drop as a final touch. These different finishings make the piece all the more lyrical and a true jewel for the home. Taher Chemirik was named one of the world’s most influential designers in 2007 by Time Magazine for his jewelry signature designs using oversized links, drop-like petals, and ebony wood. Three of his pieces are included in the permanent collection of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Since 2012, he has been creating unique furniture and lighting pieces for Galerie BSL. His personal touch as a jeweler applied to large pieces places his work in a dimension of its own in contemporary creation. Taher Chemirik’s love of nature and personal vision of the world inspire him in the creation of sculptural and functional works that are both poetic and structured, lyrical and architectured, flamboyant and balanced. One of his ‘Calligraphie’ screens is included in the Museum of Arts and Design collection in New York.
