This beautiful set of four late 18th-early 19th century European Directoire period mahogany gondola chairs will be the perfect addition to your dining room or living room as they can be used as dining room chairs or side chairs thanks to their convenient size and nice scale.
The chairs feature hand carved open work back with slight curved and scrolled lines, centered by pierced carvings in the form of a scrolled V ( or stylized lyre motif ) with acanthus leaves inlays. This awesome openwork hand carved decoration is highlighted by gilt details.
The seats resting on saber legs gently shaped as an extension of the backrests.
The precious mahogany essence has a wonderful grain and warm coloration with beautiful original patina.
Newly upholstered seats with Italian moire silk blended fabric featuring glossy green stripes on white background, which combines a silky sheen, timeless simplicity, high durability and easy-maintenance.
