A gorgeous sofa made in France during the Directoire period, circa 1790-1810, probably Jacob. This elegant center sofa with graceful and classical lines in hand carved mahogany offers comfortable scrolled arms and tapered legs. The mahogany frame has a carved decor shaped as acanthus leaves. Upholstered seat and back in red velvet. We can provide new upholster on request. It perfectly fits in a living room or in a hallway. Perfect structural condition, some spots on the upholster as you can see in the pictures.Identical seats can be found at the Malmaison Museum, Paris.
