Islamic Style Silvered Metal and Glass Illuminated Display Cabinet with Shelves

Unique of its kind, this tall hexagonal display case recalls a Middle Eastern artisan and artistic workmanship both in its Islamic style architectural shape and metal embossed decorations. This whimsical vitrine cabinet could be dated between the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. It is certainly a wonderful example of the arts and crafts period that developed during the late 1800 until mid-20th century. This oriental display case is composed of a removable hexagonal base with a fully decorated silvered metal sheet throughout. The upper part is made of six rectangular clear glasses framed with silvered metal and a door allows to access to the internal compartments. Three shelves, two made of glass and one mirrored at the bottom. The fantastic architectural finish continues upwards with a beautifully shaped lidded cover with a ball final. This unusual storage unit is entirely handmade with truly exceptional pierced carvings and fretwork. The geometric decorative motifs such as circles and spirals alternate with floral decorations. On the base, equipped with a door that can also be used as a storage compartment, there are decorative elements with rosettes that are also repeated on the top cover, while the glasses are profiled with hand chiseled tin frames featuring stylized leaves patterns. This gorgeous display cabinet is illuminated inside and the light is controlled by a small switch placed outside at the top of the vitrine. When it is on it radiates a beautiful light useful both for lighting the objects exposed and for creating a sophisticated and relaxing play of light and shadow in the room. This tall and handsome six-edged glass' showcase or display cabinet is magnificent to display fine items and it's a unique interior design decoration whether at home or in a boutique, shop or showroom. Measures: H 190 cm, glass' side W 28 cm each, base W. 35 cm each side.
