A very rare set of four chairs by Atelier Marolles, under the direction of and designed by Jean Touret. The chairs are made of oak  with cane backrests. The back is connected to the seat with beautiful iron parts. The seating's have the amazing carved texture that Touret's work is known for. All chairs are branded with 'Marolles' and in a good and original condition. Jean Touret (1916-2004) began a career as a painter and then turned towards woodcarving. All his life he continued his aesthetic research by experimenting unconventional use of a variety of materials: Wood, paper, copper, zinc, bronze, plexiglass, ceramics and concrete. We have several other Touret items available.
