Vienna secession, circa 1905. Only two of this cabinets where made for the grand duke of Hesse. by Josef Maria Olbrich (1867-1908), Austrian architect and interior designer. Upper top on pillar-like square props standing. Open bottom shelf, closed back wall.Two introduced slender circular columns, rectangular bases plate. Cantilevered ceiling plate with stepped ledge. Eight-fold doors with running around flaming strip. Detailed ornament inserts standing on a corner quatrefoil rosette. Sycamore veneer wood perla horn and matted, black stained pear tree, several inlay woods, mother-of-pearl, inside interior shelves in mahogany wood. The other cabinet is in Museum of the artist's colony Darmstadt, Germany Measures: Height: 63.78 in ( 162 cm ), Width: 55.12 in ( 140 cm ), Depth: 20.87 in ( 53 cm ) Provenance: Royal Highness the Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig of Hesse for the New Palace in Darmstadt.
