Pair of Armchairs by Augusto Bozzi for Saporiti
€4.300,00
Pair of rare armchairs by Augusto Bozzi for Saporiti, Italy.
Where Vittorio Introini, Alberto Rosselli and Giovanni Offredi shaped the image of Fratelli Saporiti during the 1960s and 1970s, it was Augusto Bozzi (1924-1982) who had put this Italian company on the map in the first place. Bozzi joined Saporiti circa 1950 to become the firm’s principal designer. Though little is known about Bozzi himself, his legacy is undisputed: a number of highly sculptural midcentury chairs of exceptional quality.
The model on offer, which can used as a (occasional) side chair as well, is arguably Bozzi’s rarest design. The set has been reupholstered in an off-white color artificial leather (Naugahyde) some time ago, but still retains the original manufacturer’s labels.
