Pair of Art Deco Black Shellac and Wool Italian Armchairs, 1940
price upon request
Pair of Italian Art Deco armchairs, embellished with a fabric insert from an important Italian silk factory.
The wooden frame, armrests and lower part, are completely polished in black shellac; while the seat and backrest, are covered with a gray wool fabric. The armchairs are composed of two large side arms, which also act as legs. Beautifully curved armrests in black lacquered beech wood nicely blend with the grey upholstery. Then the seat and backrest are covered with a pair of refined fabrics; as you can see, there is an insert both on the seat and on the backrest, in gray fabric with black and white handwork; this is highlighted by a seam all around with a white string. The fabric comes from a "silk factory" in Zoagli.
Finely restored, with attention to detail, with great attention to the original, make sure that each piece retains its value and is ready for many years to come.
