They were created between 1948 and 1950 by a skilled master craftsman in Lyon, France; this French city was famous for producing high-quality furniture, including the "Bridge" chairs. We were fortunate enough to find them some time ago in the market in Villeurbanne, the "Citiè des Antiquaires" neighboring municipality of Lyon; the upholstery was badly damaged, so we had them upholstered and the seat upholstery completely reupholstered by an old craftsman from Florence who used a sturdy velvet with a fine mustard color. French "Bridge" chairs are a traditional type of chair named after the card game of Bridge, which is very popular in France; these chairs are famous for their elegant and refined design. They are made of solid wood with fine details; one of the main features of this type of chair is the high back, this peculiarity provides ergonomic support for the back and helps to provide comfortable seating during long games of Bridge or other sedentary activities.
