These elegant pair of Italian solid mottled dark green marble is a good example of serpentine carving column. The pedestals are raised on an octagonal shaped base, a round egg-shaped carvings socle below the central support with stunning deep fluted designed column. Fitted with rotating round top.
This particular kind of green marble, also called “verde Prato”, has been quarried for centuries near to Prato, northwest of Florence in Italy and the stone is so named due to the resemblance to the skin of a serpent. Perfect to expose your statues, sculptures, vases or table lamps.
Very good condition, minor wear due to age and use, No cracks or part missing.
The price is for the pair but they can be sold individually.
The columns come into three parts extremely easy to assemble.
