PH Dressing Table in steel - with elegant drawers and optional mirror with light
€4.480,00
The PH Dressing Table in steel with the PH Mirror reinterprets Poul Henningsen’s 1919 dressing table for a contemporary, steel framed expression. Light in presence yet strong in construction, the piece preserves PH’s original idea of clarity between what carries and what is carried.
The PH Mirror brings the collection’s signature, softly backlit illumination to the ritual of getting ready, delivering an even reflection free from harsh shadows.
Please note that the PH Mirror is not included with the PH Dressing Table Steel and is available for purchase separately.
The PH Dressing Table in Steel is Poul Henningsen’s sculptural take
on a dressing table, presented as part of his tubular steel collection at
the Fredericia Trade Exhibition in July 1932.
A light, open steel frame, circular rotating drawers and the floating
PH Mirror create a piece that is both highly functional and visually
precise. The PH Dressing Table in Steel has been recreated from
historical photographs and known proportions from PH’s other steel
furniture - bringing a rare piece of Danish design history into
contemporary interiors.
The PH Dressing Table in Steel brings together the key gestures from
Poul Henningsen’s tubular steel furniture in one compact, sculptural
piece. The characteristic steel legs are bent in soft, organic curves
that echo PH’s chairs and tables from the same period. All tubes are
made in approximately 25 mm steel, matching the rest of the PH
steel furniture collection so the pieces read as one family.
The tabletop is slim and refined, with rounded ends and a discreet
metal edging along the front - a motif also seen on the PH Grand
Piano and later dressing tables. The thickness follows the approved
dimensions from PH’s other tables, giving a light yet stable
expression.
The four circular drawers are rotatable and combine pure circular
geometry with concave fronts that follow the inclination of the legs.
The reference to the PH Desk from 1933 is clear, translated here into a
more compact, vertical piece.
The PH Mirror is mounted on an inverted U-shaped bracket, a
solution Henningsen later used on other dressing tables. This makes
it possible to fit different PH Mirror sizes - here shown with a PH
Mirror of approximately Ø360 mm - and to adapt the composition to
different spaces.
Available in Chrome or Dark Copper (gloss); separate mirror in aluminium, copper, brass or in painted black, white, red, yellow or green in two sizes.
