The Rising Chair emphasize the natural shape an object can made by transforming itself. The rhythm of the wooden beams gives the chair an organic shape.
The Rising Chair has taken part in many international exhibitions and trade fairs, and it won the Red Dot design award.
Robert starts out by making small incisions in a flat surface, then sits back to watch and study the otherwise rigid wood’s reaction to the new shape it is able to assume. An important aspect of Robert’s design process is his conscious focus on marrying functionality with an aesthetically pleasing look.
