The coffee table was made between 1970 and 1975 in an artisan workshop in Meda in the province of Monza and Brianza in Lombardy, Italy, a place famous for its design industry and historic artisan production of classic and modern furniture; artisans were inspired by the desire to devise a small-sized object with strong, simple lines and gave the coffee table a timeless elegance; its design plays between austerity and rigorousness, and its exaggerated linearity gives the object a dynamic and stately character.
