A pair of Italian benches made of oak wood; the solid structure of each is made even more stable by two sturdy brass bars that join the legs; the shaping of the whole form is very elegant and sober; but what makes these benches unique and original is the seat, made of a luxurious creamy white long-haired Mongolian sheepskin. The benches were made between 1950 and 1955 in one of the many handicraft workshops in the area of Lissone (Monza-Brianza-Italy), a place famous for the production of high-quality carpentry; the craftsmen were inspired by the desire to design two objects with small dimensions, privileging the idea of comfort and intimacy, and they gave the benches timeless originality, following the fashion of those years; their design plays on the contrast between the rigidity of wood and the warm softness of sheepskin. We can say that with these characteristics our benches interpret spaces where elegance is put at the service of leisure and entertainment. Winter in Mongolia is very long, lasting nearly six months, and clothes are needed to keep warm even at -40 degrees Celsius, those people usually use clothing mainly made of sheep wool.
