A rare “checkerboard” coffee table designed by Willy Rizzo, manufactured in Italy around 1970.
This wonderful piece is made of high quality black laminated wood with bright aluminium. The materials are combined into a checkered pattern to the top with the aluminium squares being a bit higher than the black ones. It’s a beautiful style that gives the table a very luxurious appeal! A fantastic find of mid-century Italian design.
It remains in good, vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. There are some very minor dents in the aluminium.
