This lamp base is executed in 'avventurina': an old, yet complicated technique to infuse glass with very small gold (colored) particles, thus creating the subtle gold dust look.
The Seguso family has been active in glass manufacturing since the 14th century and is inseparably linked to the history of the Venetian island of Murano. Seguso Vetri d'Arte founded in 1933 by Napoleone Barovier, Luigi Ferro and Antonio Seguso. Employing prominent glass artists like Archimede Seguso and Flavio Poli, the company soon became - and still is - one of the most prominent Venetian glass makers.
