Elegant wall lamp from the company Hillebrand, Germany. Metal, brass and white pate-de-verre (molten glass). This model with a pull function is from the 1950s and is not often seen. Marked with a label. Little remains of the gilding, but still a beautiful patina. Two bulbs, 40 watt, E14 14-17 mm Small Edison Screw (SES). The electricity is used but in a good condition, approved to European standards. Works in the USA. Dimensions: Height 9.0 in. (23 cm), depth 5.9 in. (15 cm) and width 9.8 inches (25 cm). Diameter glass shade: 4.3 in. (11 cm), height 5.9 in. (15 cm). Egon Hillebrand Leuchtenfabrik, Neheim-Hüsten was founded on May 15, 1881 by plumber Egon Hillebrand as a manufacturer of beer pitchers, household appliances, kerosene lamps and storm and carriage lanterns. Under the leadership of son Franz, the switch was made to the manufacture of electrical lighting fixtures. Success came with the arrival of Ernest Igl (1920-2001), who designed various lamps for Hillebrand in the 1950s. Other well-known designs were from Dr. Heinz Georg Pfaender (1928-2015) the Oslo table lamp and in 1963 the Bornholm desk lamp. Two design icons of the Hillebrand company. Odo Klose designed a floor lamp model 5225.
