Peculiar and linear pair of vintage Italian wall sconces; on each sconce, the sturdy structure with a simple and linear design is made of nickel-plated and polished brass; on it are applied four slabs of smoky hazel-colored tempered crystal glass elegantly shaped, two of them are positioned to remain parallel to the wall, while the other two protrude out, like petals of a flower; the attachment to the structure is solid but minimal precisely to enhance the crystal itself; the shaped box to which the crystals are attached also has a housing for two opposing light points, which, being free of obstacles, are excellent for perfect distribution of light in an excellent and uniform manner; the electrical wires run inside the box and come out at the back, where a plate has been created for attachment to the wall. The strong thick chrome plating of the objects was obtained by the galvanic bath. The sconces were made between 1970 and 1973 in a craft workshop in Milan inspired by a model design by the famous Fontana Arte Company. Fontana Arte is a prestigious Italian company founded in Milan in 1932 by Luigi Fontana and Giò Ponti and specialized in glass processing and the creation of furnishing accessories, an important name in Italian design. Our wall sconces with their simple structure, clean lines, and balanced and dynamic arrangement of crystals, are two unique, elegant, and modern pieces of furniture that can be adapted to any room in the house. The electrical system is working, but the wiring is European, the compatibility of the voltage in other countries must always be verified by an electrician before use.
