Intricately hand carved and pierced these Italian 19th century Rococo Revival Louis XVI style scrolled giltwood wall light sconces are a wonderful example of Tuscan craftsmanship in the art of wood carving and gilding and wrought iron.
handmade in Florence - and acquired from a Florentine mansion- each of this pair of giltwood four-light wall sconces are gilded with gold leaves, featuring rich foliate carvings and wrought iron scrolled arms supporting four round ocher lacquer and gilded drip pan bobeches and their candle sleeves.
Boasting a lovely patina, fourfold sconce for a bright and luxurious feel, this pair of Florentine Rococo style sconces will bring an undeniable touch of refinement to any living room, hallway or bedroom, perhaps hung above a pair of demi-lunes or commodes.
Very good overall condition. Lovely original patina, warm gold color and great scale. Lovely tiny vintage silk lampshades profiled by golden cord included.
They are newly wired but it is advisable to change the bulb sockets.
