Originally these lamps were oil lamps, over time the mechanism with the wick has been modified to electrify them and give them another aesthetic purpose; the finishes are in gilded bronze that time has slightly aged, but made more interesting; the body is in fine French porcelain ("Porcelain de Paris"); the exceptional decorations, cameos with heads of women of the time, are entirely hand-painted with meticulous attention to detail, they are small works of art!
