We kindly suggest that you read the entire description, as with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Iconic table lamp made of chrome-plated metal; it consists of a rod on which are placed, at different heights, two cylinders at the top of which are two metal spheres that contain within them the point of light; the spheres rotate 360 degrees in all directions, thus allowing excellent custom lighting. The square base is solid and functional. The lamp features an elegant and minimalist design, made of the highest quality materials and finished with a chrome finish. The lamp was created between 1975 and 1980 in a workshop in Monza (Lombardy, Italy), the artisans were inspired by the style of designer Goffredo Reggiani with the desire to devise an object with small dimensions favoring the idea of practicality and linearity, and they gave the lamp timeless originality, following the fashion of those years; we know for certain that the architect Reggiani used Lombard craftsmen of recognized skill for the construction of his objects, who used very refined materials also because the objects were intended mainly for the apartments of the rich Milanese bourgeoisie, our lamp with its characteristics of quality, accuracy, and finish, was certainly made by those Master craftsmen. The prolific and important Italian designer Goffredo Reggiani (1929-2004) founded the company in the city of Monza, Italy, in 1957. He designed most of the lamps himself. He often used chromed metal and steel, giving his creations a Scandinavian look. Goffredo Reggiani's chrome lamps feature clean lines and flowing curves, offering bright, diffused light; Reggiani's lamps have become cult objects for design enthusiasts and collectors, thanks to their aesthetic beauty and quality craftsmanship. The style of the lamp is the "Space Age", this aesthetic current was born at the dawn of the space age, commonly attributed to the launch of Sputnik in October 1957. Space Age design captured society's optimism and confidence in technology in the 1950s and 1960s. The spherical shape predominates in this style for most decorations and lighting where, often, if several spheres are connected together, they explicitly resemble the atom. The design explodes into a variety of styles and movements, making room for roundness, freedom of form and movement, lightness, and simplicity. The lamps of that period are characterized by essential volumes that recall geometric shapes that break definitively with the rationalist tradition. The materials are cold, shiny, and metallic. Our lamp with its simple and essential design hides an ingenious, innovative, and practical soul, ready to spread light according to our needs; It will easily fit into any context of the home because of its timeless elegance. The lamp is in good condition. The electrical system is working but the wiring is European, voltage compatibility in other states should always be checked by an electrician before use. Measures width cm.27, depth cm.14, height cm.52. For all our shipments we use special packing materials (custom-made wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the items.
