We kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Iconic and original floor (or table) lamp made of blown opaline glass and "incamiciato" with an intense orange color and chrome metal frame; the lamp inside has two light points that create a pleasant soft light. On the top and placed is a chrome-plated metal frame with a ring that aesthetically lightens the shape of the whole but can also act as a grip to move the lamp; again a metal frame functions as a base. The lamp was expertly blown and handcrafted following the ancient technique of the Venetian Opaline Glass Masters." Opaline is glass processing that overlays " casing" "lattimo" glass (a particular color of opal white) with another colored glass, so as to achieve greater color intensity and brighter, more vivid colors (see photo). This workmanship is a classic of the ancient Murano art of glassmaking, allowing the creation of objects from the most neutral to the boldest colors to easily match a stylish and refined taste or a more modern and minimal taste. Our fine lamp can be attributed with excellent certainty to the great master glassmaker, artist, and designer Carlo Nason, who designed and engineered it between 1970 and 1975 for the Mazzega company in Murano, in the style and color that was typical of those years. Born in Murano in 1935, Carlo Nason comes from one of the island's oldest glassmaking families. He grew up hanging out with the master glassmakers working in the family furnace and immediately sensed and investigated the great potential of glass, a material steeped in history and memory. Carlo Nason appropriates the finest techniques of the art of glassmaking and employs them in the field of design, resulting in a skillful blend of technique and high craftsmanship, tradition, and innovation. The AV Mazzega company was founded in Murano in 1946 and began production at the highest level, destined for a high and demanding market; between the 1950s and 1970s it was the creator of a profound artistic and conceptual renewal in the field of art glass in Murano; its collaboration with the elite of the twentieth-century European art world and with great Murano glass masters dates from that period. Our lamp with its Space Age style will give personality and originality to any room in the home. The lamp is in good condition. Measures diameter cm.25, height cm.70.
