Daum Nancy Cameo Finest as well as Rarest Art Glass Stalky Vase of Art Nouveau Period. Excellently decorated with interesting patterns: These are gingko leaves ! MANUFACTORY: DAUM FRÈRES / made in France / Nancy, Lorraine, circa 1900.
DESIGNER: DAUM FRÈRES (Auguste and Antonin Daum). TECHNIQUE OF MANUFACTURE: CAMEO GLASS & ETCHED
(built up with different layers and cut back with acid to reveal beautiful designs). Stunningly manufactured cameo (casing) glass: Colourless frosted glass of multi-layered type (= orange-yellow shaded glass underneath / moss green glass layer at round foot).
The vase's outer wall is abundantly decorated with stunningly cut herbal decorations covering large parts of vase's surface: These consist of cut leafy twigs spreading from vase's top area: Great part of vase's surface is decorated with dark green / bright green / silvery leaves depicting gingko leaves attached to stems. This stalky vase based on broad round foot has tapering area as well as a quite large round mouth. HALLMARKED: Daum Nancy Cut Cameo Signature of circa 1900 with Cross of Lorraine very well visible at area below: Related signature is published by Carolus Hartmann, Glasmarken-Lexikon 1600-1945, Stuttgart/Germany 1997, page 148, signature number 2984.
