MEISSEN VERY LOVELY AS WELL AS GORGEOUS DOG'S FIGURINE: So-said Spaniel Dog, excellently manufactured. Manufactory: Meissen. Hallmarked: Blue Meissen Sword Mark of Pfeiffer Period with point above. FIRST QUALITY. model number 333 / former's number 51. Dating: 20th century / Pfeiffer Period = made 1924 - 1934. Material: porcelain, glossy finish, painted. Technique: handmade porcelain. Style: Rococo. MODELLED BY JOHANN JOACHIM KAENDLER (born in 1706 near Dresden / Germany - died 1775 in Meissen). MODEL 333 CREATED CIRCA 1743. Kaendler was chief sculptor at Meissen manufactory as from 1742 until the year 1775. He is the most famous modeller ever having been active in Meissen and created well-known series such as Shepherd Figurines, Comedian's Children, Gardener Children (with Acier), Paris Town Criers (with Reinicke and Meyer), Gallant Figurines, Asian Figurines etc. Additionally, Kaendler made, too, excellent models of animal figurines. SPECIFICATION: So-said Spaniel Dog, excellently manufactured. Painted brown-white & stunningly modelled. The very special peculiarities of this model - the dog's pelts with tail and ears slightly sticking out, further the teeth and tongue - are a quite hard work for the modeller, indeed...
